Classic! I have eaten here since the 90's and loved every bit of it! If you are in the area and crave Jamaican food, this is the spot. They serve all the authentic Jamaican dishes and drinks (non-alcoholic). The cooks and staff haven't changed in forever.. just the way I like it. Consistency is a big deal for me and Sango's hits the mark! The inside is small because honestly most people order and pick up, but there are a few tables for the occasional "dine-in". If you are not from the Caribbean there is a good chance you don't know about our Chinese food. That's why I really love this place, the Chinese food they make here will change your life. I highly recommend the chicken fried rice and Escovitch wings, make sure you order at least 20 minutes in advance. Nothing is made until you order it, so they guarantee its fresh! The parking lot is pretty small and always full, but there's a reason. :) Also, try the beef patties on Sunday or Monday, the only days they make them.

Had the jerk chicken and curry goat. Both were good but I would have prefered a bit more spice in each dish. Service was good but seating is limited. Id like to go back and try some other dishes.

I can eat their jerk chicken everyday for the rest of my life! The jerk sauce that comes on the side is awesome too! Sides are average, portions r huge. Large serving of jerk chicken with rice and veggies was only $8. Highly recommend stopping by this hole in the wall restaurant!

Typical jamaican food spot! Yes you will be greeted once you go enter the place by the owner. Menus all around the place (hanging and on counter), a counter and three tables. You can see the kitchen from the counter outside. Went there for lunch time, there were so many people coming for take out, I think they were all regulars!! bus drivers, families, chinese people, jamaican people! Everyday they have different specials but, they do carry everyday dishes. We ordered the curried goat, which was VERY VERY good!! it was not gamey, very tasty and with the rice with beans, it was super YUMMI!! also ordered the jerk chicken which was also good... I wanted to order the oxtail so bad. But two FULL plates was enough for 3 people!!! Orders are pretty big, so I suggest you share, that will give you a chance to try more food!!! Prices are good, curried goat was $6.75 and jerk chicken was $8.00. If you are around this neighborhood, I recommend you visit Sangos!! they have chinese food as well, but I will probably stick to Jamaican!!

Listen, this place is jerk heaven. First off the ladies that take you order are super nice, the prices are so fair, and the seasoning is ridiculous!! Its in palmetto bay tucked in a strip mall across from bmw and the flavors are crazy good, the portions are large, im glad Yelp helped me find this place. I tried the curry goat and it was just the right amount of spicy, and the sauce was awesome. The jerk chicken and jerk pork are fabulous, not sure which is better. Why in the world one would venture off to any other chicken place around here is beyond me. They put this sauce over the rice and beans that makes my mouth water just writing about it. This place is no joke, hurry there and get you some take out, its a hidden gem. Im not jamaican, and i have to say it is probably the best seasoned food around here. Give it a try.

I came here looking for spice but wasn't too spicy at all. I had the curry goat and thought was ok. Hubby had oxtail and not spicy but more flavor than the goat. Take-out only. 1 table in restaurant. Service good and fast. Plates r huge so share or b prepared for serious leftovers.

I'm so happy that this place is close to me. My family is Chinese-Jamaican and when my mom doesn't wanna make me dinner, Sango is the next best thing. I'm a veggie girl, so I wasn't expecting there to be too much available for me to eat here but BOY, was I proven wrong. You can get tofu pretty much any which way. Curried tofu, sweet and sour tofu, escovitch tofu, you name it, they make it. Each entree (or at least the tofu) you order comes with a side of either white rice or rice and peas and a few plantains. AND there's tons of Chinese food that I can eat. The servings are LARGE but take 10 minutes or less to get to you. Most meals are $8-12 or so. I've always ordered to take out, but I wouldn't mind eating there with a friend. You feel like you're in someone's kitchen. It's got three tables in a small dining area off to the left with a fish tank and a bunch of cool autographed posters (i.e. Lady Saw!). The people are real nice and accommodating. So take it from someone that was RAISED on Chinese-Jamaican food... Sango is the best, hands-down.

Excellent oxtail and rice and peas. Will have to try other items on my next visit. You need to bring your own beer, in a paper bag.

The food is good. Not gonna lie. But they run it like the soup nazi from Seinfeld. Also don't go to late at night. The area is not the best. Try the curry chicken or jerk pork. If you have balls, make sure you tell them you want your jerk pork with meat to pork blubber.

I haven't been here in ages but I just remember my favorite thing was the roast beef.

Jamaican and Chinese? What the Pho?? Seriously though, for the money and for the amount of food, you can't beat Sango's. As soon as you walk in you're bombarded by reggae music and posters of scantily dressed Jamaican females. There are only three tables in this joint (no pun intended) but most people order to go. Whether eating there or take out, you'll get your food in a "to go" container. Don't be fooled by the styrofoam though, the food is very tasty. When we went I ordered the curried goat and my friend ordered the ox tail. Both entrees came with rice, beans, and Jamaican styled plantains. The goat was spicy which was a nice touch in addition to the intricate spices already cooked into dish. The ox tail was also pleasantly good, although I recommend the goat over the ox. All in all, a great lunch experience.

I drove from the Gables to get my curry goat fix. Sadly, the chunks of goat meat were few and far between; unlike my prior experiences here. Instead, it was a bony dish with hints of goat. I know the goat is a bony animal but it has meat too. Maybe I got the bottom of the pan on a Friday afternoon...? Disappointed this go round.

I had driven by Sango's several times when heading to Pho Thang (they're practically next to each other), but either had a craving for Vietnamese food instead, or they were closed, since Sango's is not open on Sundays. After asking a Jamaican man about Jamaican restaurants in the Pinecrest area, Sango's was the place he recommended, so I made a mental note to make an extra effort to try Sango's. I finally made it on Saturday in time for an early-ish dinner. My friend and I arrived to this small, simple restaurant. We both decided to order the jerk chicken. The lady at the counter took our order and we sat to wait while our meals were prepared. Finally, the food arrived after 10-15 minutes of waiting, which isn't bad at all. There were chunks of chicken with bone, drenched in a thick, brown jerk sauce, the rice and peas underneath -- portion size was great. The drawback for me was that the chicken had too much of a sweet flavor and it was not spicy, like at all. Palatino's jerk sauce makes my nose run, I can taste the hints of scotch bonnet, but the sauce here tasted like the kind you buy in a jar at Publix, too heavy on brown sugar and a subtle flavor of smoke. It didn't taste bad, it was good, but it was more of a sweet twist on barbecue sauce to me, rather than hot jerk sauce, which is what I was looking forward to having with my chicken. The meat was tender, and the small pieces made it easy to grab the chicken to bite into and eat. The rice was too sticky and lumpy for my taste, and although somewhat bland, benefited from mixing in the jerk sauce from the chicken. The jerk chicken also comes with a salad, which was tasty and with a light dressing. Despite the lack of heat in the food, you can't deny the fact it's an excellent value, look at the photos of the food and you'll see that less than $10 gets you a huge meal. This is also one of the cheaper Jamaican restaurants, and who isn't a fan of tons of food at a very reasonable price?

By far the best curry goat in town. What the places lacks in ambiance it makes up for in the quality of their food. :)

I have been coming here since 1996. The fact that I am still frequenting this place today says it all. Great Jamaican food. My go to meals are jerk pork, brown stew chicken and curry goat. Stop in on Saturday's for the manish water, for my Jamaican folks they know what that is :). Prices are mid range (around $10) but worth it in my opinion.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
